Course description:
The course gives a compact mathematical toolbox necessary for
quantitative understanding of the natural sciences.
Instead of deep mathematical treatment, the focus is on
developing computational routines,
understanding practical applications and physical principles.
Contents:
MAPU I: vectors, limits and derivatives, series, Taylor series,
integrals of one variable, complex numbers
MAPU II: differential equations for one variable,
vector differentials,
line, surface and volume integrals, Gauss' and Stokes' laws,
matrices, linear algebra
